The God War

From NexusWiki

The God War was an event that marked the transition of GM duties from Grin to Kismet.

History

Tensions mounted, the kingdoms were facing a war. A war that would split the kingdom in two, turning friends to foes. No, it's not the bloody wars between Buya and Kugnae. It was much worse, a War of the Gods!

Grin, the eldest Dreamweaver of Nexus, was pitted against Kismet during the 32nd Yuri. Recruiters for the two Gods were chosen and quickly dispersed the word through the kingdom. Almost everyone had to make a decision: Which side to choose? Some of the elder players stuck with who they knew best: Grin. But to many, Kismet brought new change to the Nexus. In any case, the sides were chosen, and the war was underway.

Soldiers of Grin suited up in their Green uniforms and wielded the Glaive of Grin. A long wooden stick with a sharp, curved blade affixed to the top, this weapon was certainly deadly. They assembled in the the Southeastern corner of the Warfield, taking camp near a sandy beach. The beach was surrounded by pools of Lava, making it difficult for enemies to trespass.

Those who devoted their efforts to Kismet were cloaked in a blue hue. The members of the army wielded Kismet's Pike. Another long stick with several sharp blades upon the top, and it proved to be vital to their survival. They assembled along the Northern part of the war field, nearest a river, with many tall trees. The trees were used for lookouts and were optimal locations for mages and rogues to hide out and attack the enemy.

The War raged on for many days. Both armies had their share of strong soldiers to combat with each other. Many lives were lost, but with the aid of several Shamans, they resurrected as many lives as possible sot the fighting would continue. Kismet's base was constantly under attack by Grin's army. Many believed Kismet's army to be outnumbered. Several sneaky mages used the low clouds along Grin's beaches to hide in, using their skill of morphing into foxes, and picking off enemies undetected. The terrain of the war field varied making it difficult to travel. The distance between the two camps took quite some time to traverse.

No one really knew exactly who was going to be declared winner. Both Grin and Kismet were slain in the battles. Days went by with more and more carnage. The grass was stained with blood; the soldiers were tired. In the final battle, Kismet was declared the winner of the God war, making him the Dreamweaver of Nexus. Grin was not seen until later events. But it leaves the question.. can such a war ever occur again?

Only time will tell..
