Hey Zaventh, I sent PhantomSnake a message but I figured I would let you know too. I see that you've both been uploading images, and I may have something that can help you. I've got a few folders that are full of .gif images of items from the game. It may be easier than trying to find user pages that have the items. There's nothing special you should have to do. Just go to the name of the template you want just as [[Template:Character]] and create it. == Roleplay ==

Geomancers are seekers of Balance. They are neither good nor evil, and strive to stay completely Neutral in all political situations.

For a long time, they were required to move to the [[Wilderness]] (like the [[Barbarian]]s), they eventually moved back to the kingdoms so they may spread their knowledge, and be easily accessible should one have an interest in the path. They currently reside in the wilderness.

War is not an option for a Geomancer, as it is one side versus another. Rather than participate in the bloodshed, the Geomancer would be working with all sides to try and stop the conflict. Many times, Geomancers are used as arbitrators because of their neutral standpoint.

If you have participated in a previous war, you had not been allowed to join the path. However, there has been a change to this and if you strive to work hard enough, you can learn to have [[Learned to walk the neutral path]].

The Geomancers also use the art of Feng Shui in order to harness the energy of the elements to promote balance and harmony in life.

== Roleplay ==
Muses are the creative class of the Nexus; they excel in arts and sciences and specialize in just about anything intellectual or creative. Muses can be artists, educators, dancers, musicians, historians, poets, writers, thespians, scientists, and so on. While the most obvious facets of Muse are the actors and musicians who entertain the community, many others are more soft-spoken, choosing to paint solitarily, pen novels, or sort through dusty archives. Most Muses are, however, community-oriented to some extent, even offering theatrical dyes as a service to the community.

Muse walkers are expected to write a journal each Year of Yuri's reign to share with their fellow Muses. The subjects of these journals are relatively unrestricted so as to encourage more creativity within the path.

Religious beliefs and rites of the Muses are unrestricted, but members of the Guild worship the [[Nine Muses|Nine Muse sisters]] of Western lore, each of whom presides over a specific art. They are:

== History ==
The Muse Guild of Buya was founded in Yuri 19 by Elder Guardian IV. The Buyan Muse Guild is an offshoot of the [[Central Muse Guild]] in the city of [[Parnassus]], far to the west. Muse Guilds exist across the world and offer services such as free lodging and use of stage facilities to traveling Muses. Each Muse Guild, including the Buyan Guild, is internally governed by the Central Guild, although Elders are granted a good degree of independence in how they shape and direct their Guilds. The Central Guild is governed by a Helicon, who chairs the Council of Nine, where each representative serves as the Hand of a specific Muse sister.

Guardian IV welcomed the original members of the path to the Muses after the Subpaths were created and energized through the [[Shattering]] of the Onyx. The path grew slowly but Guardian's vision was persistent. In Yuri 25, however, a visiting Muse turned out to secretly be an evaluator for the Central Guild, which did not feel its new Buyan branch was growing quickly enough. Guardian was removed and recalled to his native [[Ilbon]], where he was eventually promoted to chair the League of Eastern Muse Guilds. Laburnum was installed as Elder, and quickly expanded the path, ascending guides and adding new walkers; the first ascended Guide of the Muse Guild was Kiyone, followed almost immediately by Lokira. During the period of Laburnum's reign, the Guild worked to define its role in the community; a weekly storytelling Gathering was initiated by Guide Rando and community outreach, for which the Muses are now legendary, truly began.

At Laburnum's departure for work in the West, in Yuri 31, Kiyone was elected Elder. During her 25-year reign she oversaw vast expansion of the path, countless threats to the Muses (including a Shaman feud and a tangle with the cursed book [[Stones]]), a vast increase in Muse outreach to the community (including the hosting of the [[Revel to Riches]]) and the design and construction of the [[Garden of the Muses]]. In Yuri 55, however, after the Nine Muse Sisters appeared in and around Buya, a high-ranking official from the [[Central Muse Guild]] named [[Thales]] (Hand of Melpomene) audited the Buyian Guild. While many presumed he was there to sack the Elder, he was in fact recruiting her for the position of Helicon, the Leader of the Central Guild in the far-western city of [[Parnassus]]. Kiyone left for Parnassus and appointed Lokira as elder.

Lokira, having grown discontented with the vast degree of cheating and potential for corruption faced by the Revel, divorced the Muse Guild from the event. Hostess [[Revelle d'Literit]] was recalled to Parnassus, where she eventually became the Hand of Calliope. After a brief but effective tenure which oversaw the launch of the [[Nine Muses Quest]] and the end of the Muse-run Revel, Lokira retired in favor of a more quiet, restful job: Head Librarian of Parnassus.

SkaDemon governed the Muses through tough times, including uncertainty about the future of the Nexus itself, before stepping down and yielding to Aelis. Aelis has served as elder ever since, instituting reforms and building upon her vision -- as well as those of past Elders -- for the path's future. Under her guidance, the Guild has returned to hosting several popular weekly events that were closed or discontinued; she also oversaw the reopening and massive expansion of Muse College.

== Locations ==
The Muse Circle consists of a courtyard hidden in the woods south of the Palace of [[Buya]], close to the tavern amenities and Cultural Center. The circle design (architect: [[Kiyone]]) is intended to evoke the feel of an urban oasis; inspiration is drawn from the Poetry Corner of Old Buya prior to the Great Shift. At night, specially placed lanterns illuminate the Circle. The Muse Guild's is the only subpath circle located in the Capital City of [[Buya]].

The Muse Guide Circle (architect: [[Soleil]]) is a more abstract work of art and a postmodern expression of raw creative energy. It has been referred to as one of the most beautiful places in Nexus, but is only accessible by Muse Guides.

The [[Garden of the muses]] (architect: Kiyone) is home to a spectacular theatre with lighting, backstage and stage-setting amenities, dining accommodations, and a balcony. There is also a library and classroom there known as the Sanctum of Song, where Muse College is held.. The Muse Garden is the only place in the Nexus where patrons can purchase Tea.

== Roleplay ==
You say you would like to read a little about the Monks? Our path is a little bit different than the others which also shows in our history. It all started when Greta founded a new Sangha in the kingdoms based upon the philosophies of Siddhartha Guatama known as The Buddha.

Our particular Sangha has much more freedom than the traditional ones. Buddhism can either be followed as a philosophy, or a religion whom Siddhartha is depicted as a deity. We welcome both, and I believe we have about half and half. Anyone can follow these virtues to take a step towards inner peace; unfortunately we can only allow those that follow the Poet's path of healing to join our group.

Among the many texts that can be read, the two that we focus on teaching and being comprehended are The Four Noble Truths, and The Eightfold path. Most of the other texts facilitate the learning and understanding of these which are said to be the path to enlightenment and Nirvana.

We are much more than a group of bookworms seeking inner peace though, we are a great family. That is one of the reasons that we have always had so many members. The Monks have always supported each other with quests, moral support, or even just a shoulder to cry on.

There are four titles that a Monks have:
Monk - All of these titles do not really affect who the person is which is why the names were written the way they are. One is not better than the other as many people will remain just Monk in their title for quite a long time.
Sammasati (Il San) - Right Mindfulness is the seventh factor in the Eightfold path.
Karuna (Ee San) - Compassion is the deep awareness many have of others' suffering and wanting to relieve it.
Samaruhi (Sam San) - Ascended means to have moved upward to another level, but not necessarily meaning to have become a Boddhisattva. A Boddhisvattva is one who has reached enlightenment, but chose not to ascend to Nirvana, but to stay in the realm to help others reach enlightenment.

There are a few items that Monks can earn that make them a little distinct walking around the kingdoms. They are by no means easy to obtain, but many work hard and earn these.

The first of course are the Straw Hats that we forge for each other. They are much lighter than a traditional helm, however with the blessed straw we use they are just as protective. The large circumference of the brim works great for keeping the sun out of your eyes, you can still feel the breeze on the back of your neck, and your field of vision is not impaired like with heavy metal helms.

The next takes a nice amount of trials and patience to earn: The Lotus blossom. It is one of the symbols of our path. Lotus blossoms grow deep in the murkiest swamps, however the bloom beautify seeking the sunlight. For this reason we look to the Lotus and show that we too can turn out just fine even though we don't live in a perfect world.

Destiny Spears are probably the most distinct symbol of seeing a Monk, but they are also the hardest to obtain. They were intended to aid in traveling. They are a great walking aid, and the spear-headed tip is excellent for defense. If you would like to one day hold something like this, you have much work to do.

All of us are in tune to the karmic ways of balance which lets us peer into the souls of others and read their karmic level. We have the ability to bless food and drink to increase their healing potency by half. You can ask any Monk for these services, and once in a while you will see a group of Monks holding small service events at a well traveled gate.

Among the many years our path has persevered, our scroll has gathered a great collection of important texts, stories, vision experiences, koans, and many other writings. You can pick a copy of The Wandering Monk from your kingdom's library, and in the Bodhi Sanctum in Wisdom's ascent at Dae Shore at the price of 1,000 coins to cover the materials to scribe it.

== Roleplay ==

The Druids were the Magi or philosopher-magicians of the early Celtic civilization. Several meanings are offered for the word Druid including: "a servant of truth" "all knowing or wise man" "an oak" or "equal in honor." Generally a Druid is considered one with gnosis or spiritual. Seasonal celebrations and festivals were adopted and adapted to the new Christianized cultures of Europe -- such as Christmas at the winter solstice and the Druid festival of Samhain or All Hallows Sabbath -- which we now call Halloween. More over Druid beliefs and customs such as kissing under the mistletoe have also been passed down to the present day. So, hence we say that although Christmas in Nexus is not related to ancient Korea, Druids are not so distant from it.

Is a Druid simply a 'Holyman' and one who loves Nature? A Druid is viewed by many people slightly different.

A Druid is neither Good, nor evil. We are neutral, as Nature itself is neutral. However druids can play a darker role or a brighter one, without taking their neutrality aside.

Druids hold the Trees above all other flora as a deity. Druids have an obligation to protect these trees, as well as wild plants, crops, and to a lesser extent, their human followers and animals.

If a Druid observes any creature destroying the flora or fauna, the Druid would unlikely risk his/her life to prevent the destruction. Rather, it is probable that the Druid would seek revenge at a later date, as opportunity presents itself.

A Druid is able to identify all plants, animals, and have the ability to purify water. Druids are able to pass through a forest or shrubbed area unscathed very easily. Druids are immune to the charms from woodland animals. A Druid is able to change his/her form to match any fauna ((we hope to make it possible here in nexus as well))

Druids believe in the eternal nature of the Soul and see a living spirit in all forms of creation. There is an ancient saying attributed to the Druids "Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man." Druids hold that souls could be contacted after death and that souls reincarnate. The universe is the Druid's living bible written directly by the hand of God.

Druids dedicate much of their time observing, studying everything that surrounds them. Many times when Kingdoms rage in war the Druids are their to see the first to die and the last to survive, we rarely ever participate in the wars ourselves. We come to battles not to see death, we come to observe it many times hidden as creatures of the wild. Wisdom is the greatest asset one can have in life.

Druids are the interpreters of the gods, the judges and teachers astronomers and seers, as well as physicians and healers. Rites and rituals are generally held outdoors typically in an oak grove or around a stone circle.

Druids are friends to all life, may it be man, beast, or plant life. Druids are herbalists, they understand about plants and healing potions. They view the past, the present and the future, either by casting runes or performing flower readings. Druids understand the elements and assist their aspirants in seeing the divine spirit within themselves and indeed within all things.

== Roleplay ==
Without much hesitation, normally you'd hear of the seven skills of a Ranger, or some comment about protecting nature. The truth is, not many people really understand what a Ranger lives for, or the general attitude of the path.

A Ranger, as a person, is generally somebody who understands the part the natural world plays, and its effects on urbanization and civilization. Those you usually meet are likely the types that, though willing to live in cities, choose not to. Most Rangers have never really found themselves in people throughout the cities, but live on what is and what has been given to us in the natural world.

Something that brings out this family is that they're not all the same. There are thinkers, the carefree, the loners, and tons of other kinds of people. A ranger can be who he is; yet they all share one common belief: While civilization expands, we forget about what is not turned into roads and buildings. As people neglect the original poor places, it can become agitated. Eventually, someone must appease it, or we would fall victim to it.

In defending nature, rangers have sectored their skills into the seven. As much as we are defenders of nature, we are talented fighters and guardians. Our eyes are sharp in Archery, while you will never see us when we exercise Camouflage. When all seven are mastered, you essentially find the greatest strategist rogue.

No matter how advanced we become, we need the natural world. Not most people realize this. A Ranger does, and does what he can. Some see Rangers as people who love animals and plants more than humanity. This is untrue...

Respecting nature:

You can interept respecting nature in a million different ways, but this is my view on things. This is a useful tool for new scouts, or people seeking to gain the respect of nature.

Respecting Nature is a very delicate term. It depends mostly on how define the word respect. What is respect to your friend? Your enemy? Your guardians or parents? Think about how it changes.

In this light, respecting nature is a lot like respecting a person. Think of the actions you have taken towards Nature, and try to imagine how your mother would feel had they been done to her.

Respecting Nature entails these primary points:

* Protecting Nature
* Knowing and Understanding Nature
* Not interfering with Nature's course

Protecting nature is something we have always done since the dawn of our existence. Although, we often misinterpret what needs to be protected. Nature does -not- hurt itself, it is a never ending cycle. If a hawk kills a rabbit, it is because nature has let it. Because of this, most of the protecting we ever do is against ourselves! We are the only element that is outside nature in its own group... we posses the ability to define our own path. How often do you see Rabbits striving to become kings and warriors? No.. sorry.. they just eat carrots, mate, and avoid young peasants with sharp ugly sticks.

Knowing and understanding nature is very fundamental. It is important to understand nature, just as it is to know your best friend. If you understood Nature as deeply as I do, you would understand the great respect of magnitude and life that you find laying asleep.

Not interfering with nature's course is the main idea of respecting nature.

The seven skills:

* Archery : The art of hitting a target with an arrow shot from a bow. The bow is the weapon of choice of a Ranger as archery is a skill they take a particular pride in. ((the hunting aspects of Bows and Archery are not implemented in Nexus, consequence is that the bow only has a roleplay/pk use)) A Ranger can make a series of arrows. These arrows include : [[Ranger arrows]], [[Split head arrows]], [[Steel tip arrows]], [[Cursed arrows]], [[Flame arrows]], [[Sleep arrows]], [[Explosive arrows]] and [[Dark arrows]]. The last types are often used in special duels.

* Camouflage : The skill of operating unseen. Camouflage is blending in with your surroundings, be it in a city to observe someone or in nature to hunt down a specific prey.
* Cartography : It is often referred to as the art of making maps. Making maps requires a keen eye and knowledge of your surroundings.
* Foraging : Gathering specific resources from the natural surroundings. A forager knows where to find anything he needs. Other skills are useful when foraging this in order to more effectively gather the resource needed.
* Security : Security is perhaps the most abstract skill of the seven. It is used to protect someone or something in need.
* Tracking : Following footprints, and different clues left behind by someone or something. It is used to retrieve things such as the origin of a disruption in the balance of nature or a person or animal on the run.
* Trapping : Using traps wisely. Covered in training are most importantly the different physical traps and their effects as well as trapping tactics.

Scouting:

A separate branch of rangers are the scout leaders. They can tour you around any place in the land. The location most often chosen is the wilderness. The goal of such trips is to help people see the importance of the natural world around their cities through the understanding of the beauty that can be found within. The scout leader can be either a guide through the land explaining the facts about the way nature works and historical facts about specific locations or he can be a guard that leads and protects you between two points in the wilderness. As well scouting gives knowledge of the land and perception of your surroundings, for the knowledge to survive in a Life or Death Situation away from Civilization.

The Ranger circle is a part of the [[wilderness]].

[[Trapper's Paradise]] is where rangers receive their guests. [[Trapper's Paradise]] can be found next to the wilderness weaver's hut. [[Specty]] lives in the trees in the west. Up north there are two training areas Renegade's Retreat and Rustic Sanctuary, these two rooms are used to host events where certain spells need to be possible to cast. Angel's hideaway is a small studyroom where rangers drop by to find serenity. [[Maple]] is another Ranger NPC.

== Events ==
Rangers host many different games related to the seven skills they specialize in. Normally, an event will relate to a specific skill. The most popular events are the [[Archery tournament]], [[Conquer and Defend]], [[Crossbow]], [[Ambuscade]], [[Find the Ranger]], and [[Surviving the Bush]]. The events hosted are an opportunity to show one's abilities in the seven skills, community members are recognized through these and often awarded a branding in the skills they relate to. Ranger events generally have a loose and fun atmosphere. The most notable and popular of them all being the Archery Tournaments.

== Roleplay ==

Geomancers are seekers of Balance. They are neither good nor evil, and strive to stay completely Neutral in all political situations.

For a long time, they were required to move to the [[Wilderness]] (like the [[Barbarian]]s), they eventually moved back to the kingdoms so they may spread their knowledge, and be easily accessible should one have an interest in the path. They currently reside in the wilderness.

War is not an option for a Geomancer, as it is one side versus another. Rather than participate in the bloodshed, the Geomancer would be working with all sides to try and stop the conflict. Many times, Geomancers are used as arbitrators because of their neutral standpoint.

If you have participated in a previous war, you had not been allowed to join the path. However, there has been a change to this and if you strive to work hard enough, you can learn to have [[Learned to walk the neutral path]].

The Geomancers also use the art of Feng Shui in order to harness the energy of the elements to promote balance and harmony in life.

The Diviners, in a word, are seers. Diviners can look into the future and see what it holds. They believe in being peaceful, and avoiding wars, maintaining the balance of the universe through the Yin, Yang, and the Tao.

Most Diviners seek to help the community through deeds that include asking the Gods what karma level a certain person is, an act known as reading karma and conducting [[I-Ching readings]], an act only possible if you a Diviner [[guide]] (for the actual spell version - any walker can give a [[Roleplay]] reading).

The Diviner information scroll is called "The Divine Chronicles", and can be purchased for 1000 [[coins]] from [[Sheng]], the Angel in the [[Tao Te Ching]] (Diviner Subpath Area, located next to the [[Kugnae]] [[G'oh]] board).

== I-Ching Information ==
The story of the I-Ching begins with the discovery of the trigrams by Fu Hsi, China's first, ideal emperor and sage. This truly was a discovery, not a mere invention. Fu Hsi, who observed nature with care and attention, was walking beside the Yellow River when he saw a turtle emerging from the water. Naturally, he watched it closely: as a wise man he understood that wisdom came from carefully observing nature. Turtles in particular are significant animals in Chinese tradition, for the dome of their shell represents the dome of heaven and their flat lower surface the earth, so a turtle seems to embody the cosmos. On the back of this turtle, Fu Hsi first saw the eight trigrams. Through studying them along with the natural world around him and within himself, Fu Hsi came to understand how the trigrams reflect basic truths about how energy moves. In so doing, he laid the foundations both for the traditional Chinese world view and for the I-Ching.

The I-Ching itself was not created from it's constituent trigrams for many centuries. But when the last ruler of the Shang dynasty unjustly imprisoned his wise and honest Chou vassal, King Wen. Wen spent his time in prison reflecting on the trigrams, re-arranging them and, crucially, combining them into hexagrams. He also wrote the name for each of the sixty-four hexagrams, and a few lines on their meaning, which we now know as the Judgments. Eventually, King Wen's son overthrew the cruel, extravagant Shang and established the new Chou dynasty. His grandson became ruler, and the boy's uncle, the Duke of Chou, was appointed as his regent. The Duke of Chou completed King Wen's work by writing short tests associated with each of the six lines of every hexagram.

Finally, Confucius himself studied the I-Ching exhaustively and wrote extensive commentaries on it, which are known as the I-Ching's "Wings". These include the Advice (or Image), the commentaries on the judgment and on the lines, as well as the Contrasts, sequences, attached evidences and appended judgments, in addition to the discussion of the Trigrams and the Great Treatise. With it's origins in the greatest rulers and sages of China/Korea's past, and the illumination of Confucius' thought binding it into a whole, the I-Ching was honored as a Classic, and was required reading for anyone wishing to enter the higher order of Korean/Chinese society.

Taoism is not a religion, nor a philosophy. It is a "Way" of life. It is a River. The Tao is the natural order of things. It is a force that flows through every living and sentient object, as well as through the entire universe.

When the Tao is in balance it is possible to find perfect happiness. The primary religious figures in Taoism are Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu, two scholars who dedicated their lives two balancing their inner spirits.

The most common graphic representation of Taoist theology is the circular Yin Yang figure. It represents the balance of opposites in the universe. When they are equally present, all is calm. When one is outweighed by the other, there is confusion and disarray. The Yin and Yang are a model that the faithful follow, an aid that allows each person to contemplate the state of their lives.

== Yin & Yang ==

The concept of Yin and Yang is one of the most fundamental and profound theories of Feng Shui. It is the Chinese perspective of balance and continual change. Many Feng Shui practitioners claim they have a deep understanding of this concept, yet they cannot even represent the image correctly. In fact, this is a good indicator of the depth of knowledge a "master" possesses. Many times these practitioners call themselves masters, yet their printed materials contain an incorrect Tai-Chi (The name for the Yin and Yang circle) representation. How can one call themselves a master of Feng Shui and not even understand the basics of this deep and extremely significant diagram? Yin and Yang is a foundation theory for Feng Shui that supports many other theories including the Five Elements theory and the Environment. Hopefully by reading this, you will be better informed on what Yin/Yang theory is in Feng Shui.

What the Western version might be:

Yin and Yang are dependent opposites that must always be in balance. The opposites flow in a natural cycle always replacing the other. Just as the seasons cycle and create a time of heat and cold, Yin and Yang cycles through active and passive, dark and light, etc. Yin and Yang evolved from a belief of mutually dependent opposites that cannot live without the other. The Eastern view of opposites is, if you will excuse the pun, opposite of a Western view. If Yin and Yang are balanced and flowing in the East, in the West (if a similar philosophy were adopted), it might look like the image to the right.

We in the West tend to look as things as black "or" white, right "or" wrong, etc. There is separation and non-relatednesses in the Western perspective. Whereas, the Chinese view opposites as evolving and cycling. There is neither right or wrong, but rather there is balance, transformation, interaction, and dependent opposition. We need both to maintain a balance.

After the Yellow Turban rebellion (184 A.D.), the Han dynasty emperors commissioned scholars to re-examine the ancient texts. The principles of which Dong Zhongshui (?179-104 B.C.) and others interpreted the ancient texts were derived from the early philosophy of nature, the complementary alternating forces of Yin and Yang, dark and light, female and male, which maintain the balance of the cosmos, and which had been a thought pattern of the Chinese before any philosophical schools came into being. Meaning, that Feng Shui and Yin and Yang concepts were evolving from cosmological and environmental sciences before Daoists philosophy adopted it. Many people believe that it was a Daoist invention.

Within Yang, there is a small piece of Yin. Within Yin, there is a small piece of Yang. Just as in the heart of winter, a seed lays in wait to become life, so is Yang waited within Yin for its turn. In a hot summer, a sudden desert storm can bring coolness. This too is an example of how Yin is found in Yang. Again, there are no absolutes, just cycles in time.
