Lady [[Malady]] is an event character villain. Malady is the sister of [[Blight]].

=Personality and Special Traits=
*The word 'malady' means ''"a disease or disorder of the animal body"'' or ''"an unwholesome or disordered condition"''. And staying true to her name, her first appearance was during her attempt to marry King Yuri, then kill him, after having enchanted him with a love potion.
*Malady was a [[Shadow]].

=History=
She appeared in two events,

Yuri's love potion

And the Golden Jubilee where one event had the members of the kingdom searching for her, and whoever could find her would be awarded a [[Sevenleaf sword]].

Ilbon Pirates

The [[Ilbon Pirates]] are a group of pirates from the island of Ilbon (Japan). The ilbon pirates that frequently raid the shores of [[Koguryo]] have historically belonged to Captain [[Bluestone]]'s crew, but there are other Ilbon pirate crews as well.

Eldridge

A [[Game Master]] who worked for [[NEXON INC.]]. He acted as [[GM]] from 2001 to 2004.

Although he was known to use many different characters as a [[GM]] character, [[Eldridge]] is the [[event character]] he used the most, therefore players refer to this [[GM]] as [[Eldridge]].

Nagnag

[[Nagnag]] was an event character villain. He was a blacksmith that supplies weapons to the kingdom of [[Nagnang]]. He is also responsible for releasing [[ChiZao]] from his tomb, who then killed him.

= Character Biography =

The story more in-depth...

The blacksmith Nagnag who created most the weapons for the Nagnang army when they attacked the kingdoms of Koguryo and Buya many Yuri's ago has seemingly gone crazy. He has been able to persuade many tribes who live on the outskirts of Nagnang to join him on some plan. Until now we are still unsure of what he is looking for, or where he is going.

He started by attacking the Sonhi kingdom, then quickly divided his troops and attacked towns around Kugnae and Buya. The towns of Kangnung, Masan, and Onyang in Koguryo were the first to open up when they asked for help from king Yuri to drive the invaders out. This was the first time citizens got wind of what Nagnang was after, when he quickly stole a map piece from one of the village elders.

His second group of mercenaries then invaded the towns of Naju, Kimchon, and Tok-Do in Buya. Again citizens went to aid the town with the invading forces, and this time they were able to get there in time to get a piece of the map from the elders there. The map is written in a way nobody is yet able to understand, and we still have no idea what the map will lead to.

The hometown of some of the mercenaries assisting Nagnag was uncovered on the coastal towns of Kunsan, Chunchon, and Kyongju in Nagnang. Blight opened up passage to these towns so we could investigate the origins of these mercenaries, and hopefully uncover what Nagnag was up to. Unfortunately all the men had abandoned the town, and only the women who were not told anything of the plans remained behind. Luckily for the citizens these women had the foresight to copy some of the documents the men had before heading off to join Nagnag, and one of them was another part of the map.

We believe Nagnag now has all the map pieces, and is on his way to whatever the map leads to. Members of the royal family and the armies of Koguryo, Buya, and Nagnang have been meeting late into the night to try to find a way to figure out what Nagnag is up to. The merchants who lived in the towns uncovered during these attacks have started to rebuild their lives, and to help with the recovery they have started to rent homes in these towns to the citizens.

These merchants have some amazing powers, and when you rent a home you also gain access to an assistant who will help you set up your own home in many ways, with the ability to change player-to-player battle options, lighting, magic, and many other options. Each home comes with it's own key to unlock the front door, as well as the gate around the house. You can share your house with your friends, allowing them to come and go as they want. Your house can also be where you spend your nights and wake up in. The council administering the houses have also stated they are working on a few more options to make these homes even more interesting for the owners.

He was generally liked by players, and known for his distinct typing style which was entirely in ebonics.

[[Grin]] implemented several important features to the game, such as [[Ee san]]. He also designed and implemented the [[Artic Village]] map and caves.

When [[Grin]] was hacked, his Set Reactor spell was used to summon an army of [[Ice beasts]] into Buya.

In order to cover up the embarrassment of having a [[GM]] hacked, [[The God War]] event was created in order to hide the true details behind the hacking from the majority of players.

An employee of [[NEXON INC.]] from 1996-1999, he was regarded as the first [[Game Master]] of NexusTK. His real name is David Kennerly, and he is a prominent and respected American game designer. He has written essays on game design and contributed to books which teach game design at the college level.

He also worked on two other NEXON INC. projects; Dark Ages and another unreleased Nexon game, Elemental Saga.

Just before the two were to be wed, the subjects of the King came to his aide and found an antidote to the enchantment. ''

The warriors of Nagnang laid a trap for the armies of Kugnae and Buya and were successful in defending their homelands. An alliance was formed between KaKhan of the Sonhi and Blight; they agreed to overtake Buya together. Also, possibly because of their [[Sonhi]] origins an alliance between the [[Barbarians]] and the Forsaken occurred as well. ''

''[[KaKhan]] and Blight were successful in sacking the city of Buya but something happened that the insightful Blight didn't expect. KaKhan murdered all of Blight's soldiers that remained in the walls of Buya after the city was occupied. Blight, enraged by KaKhan's foolish actions planted a bomb at the southern gate of Buya and the Buyans were able to take their city from KaKhan. The alliance between the Barbarians and The Forsaken Clan was ended as well. Though some Barbarians agreed to this, many still thought of the Forsaken as their kin. Blight, for the time being, returned to his home in Nagnang.''

Celestial tiger mails

[[Celestial tiger mails]] are the name of a class of unique [[Tiger mail]] armors. They have only been worn by Royals such as [[Mhul]] or [[Lasahn]]

The Celestial tiger mails are special armors which were gifts from the Gods to Prince Mhul and Princess Lasahn, they are the strongest form of celestrial tiger mails. However, Princess Lasahn lost her Star tigeress during the war between Buya and Kugnea when the [[Shaman]] Wasse killed her. Wasse then claimed the armor for himself as a trophy for a time, but eventually sold it. Soon after it was sold, the Gods took back the armor and it was never seen again.

The Star tiger mail that Prince Mhul had proudly worn also seems to have vanished, since the Prince has not been seen displaying it for quite some time.

All of the Royals now have Sun tiger mail, or in Lasahn's case Sun tigress.

King Yuri

The King of [[Koguryo]]. Ruled Koguryo for 82 years. Died on the eve of Yuri 83 (30 June 2006).

= Royal Family =

Brother to Prince Sagu, who was corrupted by the evil witch Mupa. King Yuri eventually ordered his brother to be captured into the Onyx, with the help of the Sea Nymph. Sagu was later released, through the shattering of this onyx the twelve subpaths were formed.

Father of two sons. His first son was killed, his second son Prince MuHyul (M'Hul) succeeded him as King of Koguryo in early Yuri 83 (07 July 2006).

King Yuri became the King of Koguryo at age 12 and ruled for 82 years until his death at age 96.

Well known in history for being the Prince, he was always the main person in front of Koguryo government. He has become king after his father, King Yuri passed away for his old age. Since then, the calendar has changed to reflect years of MuHyul's reign (i.e. Hyul 1, 2, etc.) rather than Yuri's.

King MuHyul sometimes has his name shortened to King M'hul or Mhul.

King Mhul is the second son of King Yuri of Koguryo. His older brother was killed at a young age by the Empire of Han.

King Mhul remains unmarried and without a heir.

From Yuri 15 to Y24, Prince Mhul was known to spend time in the Kugnae taverns and speak to the townsfolk. Previous to this period it was not unknown for elite members of the Kingdom to hunt with the young Prince.

Prince Mhul was once engaged to [[Princess Yun]], however she disappeared when the Evil Witch [[Mupa]] arrived in Koguryo with her husband, Prince Mhul's Uncle, Prince [[Sagu]]. Many believe [[Princess Yun]] was either killed or captured by the evil witch, but in reality Prince Mhul saved her life, only to discover she was fickle.

Pre-Game History

This is an attempt to create a rough chronology of the canon background story (as described in official NEXON/KRU recognized events, not PC history. Official canon supersedes any player-created histories if the events conflict, so this is important to pay attention to)

For this point of game lore history, I will use the date B.Y. (Before Yuri).

= ~Pre-Yuri History~ =

(the point of history prior to the events which take place during the game time line)

B.Y. ?? – [[ChiZao]] is born a mortal scholar in an unknown and ancient tribe of humans that lived in the area of what is now Buya and Koguryo.

B.Y. ?? – ChiZao stumbles upon a hole in the barrier between our world and the ethereal one, becoming the living embodiment of magic in the process. He learns much from the ethereal spirits (most likely the ones from the [[Ethereal Temple]] event, but perhaps also [[Bon-Hwa]]?). ChiZao returns to our world and passes on his knowledge to four students who become the Guardians of the Four Directions: [[Chung Ryong]], [[Baekho]], [[Ju Jak]] and [[Hyun Moo]]. Together they teach all the people of the world about magic.

B.Y. ?? – ChiZao falls into insanity, becoming corrupted by his power. He becomes an undead being of evil. ChiZao raises the dead as an army of zombies and taints creatures of the world, twisting them into darkness (The Haunted Houses originate to this period of time, as do the Crypts south of Koguryo . I speculate that [[Man-Shik]] may also have been created at this time).

The Four Guardians lead humans tribes in a battle against ChiZao’s forces, ultimately defeating and sealing him away inside a tomb as to prevent the loss of magic in the world, for magic begins and ends with ChiZao. This tomb is located in what is now Nagnang.

B.Y. ?? – Over the years, ChiZao’s powerful magic leaks out from his tomb, infecting the creatures intended to guard him. This area becomes known as the Vortex. The simple mechanical lock on ChiZao’s tomb proves ineffective, so the Mythic Animals are created by the Four Guardians and charged with guarding the Elemental Keys that seal ChiZao in his tomb prison. (previous canon that King Yuri was responsible for the [[Mythic Animals]] trapped inside their caves was ret-conned by this storyline)

B.Y. ?? –The [[Zibong]] are born, possibly as a collection of spirits that formed together to become a collective-consciousness of entities capable of feeding on the souls of other creatures, absorbing their power. (possibly originating from souls of those who died fighting ChiZao?)

B.Y. ?? –The Zibong conquer an unknown but pacifistic race of beings steeped in magical power.

B.Y. ??- The Zibongs either withdraw deep into the earth under Du Mountain or become entrapped there by some other force.

B.Y. ?? –A race of [[trolls]] create what becomes the [[Lost Mines]]. (trolls possibly related to the [[ogres]]?). They release the Zibong and are annihilated, but not before sealing the mine. Zibong escape nonetheless.

B.Y. ?? – The [[Wind Temple]] is constructed / brought into this world (origins are unclear; I assume must take place after ChiZao introduces magic to the world). The Wind Gods [[Hanuman]], [[Hwanung]] and [[Tangun]] may also have been born at this time.

B.Y. ?? – [[Zhixin]] forges a [[Staff of the Elements]] (this event must take place prior to the birth of the Han Empire)

B.Y. ?? – An unknown warrior tribe captures the Wind Temple, sealing the Wind Gods spirits inside of shrines located within, allowing them to use their power to control the [[Wind spirits]]. The tribe uses the Wind Temple to defeat many other tribes. This results in the birth of the Han Empire.

B.Y. ?? – The early Han Empire sends the Wind Temple high into the sky to prevent others from using its power.

B.Y. ?? – The [[Spirit Guide]] [[Eldridge]] is born and granted power by the Gods to guide mortals (this event must take place about here as Eldridge knows little more than legends about events prior to this point)

B.Y. ?? –The fishing village of [[Hausson]] is founded off the coast of what is now [[Koguryo]]. Hyun moo becomes the guardian deity of the village.

B.Y. ?? –Pirates attack Hausson. Hyun Moo calls for the aid of the other guardians to repel the attack. They are successful, but at the loss of Hausson’s strongest warrior, [[Kimesh]]. The totems bless her with immortality in spirit form and teach her how to create weapons infused with their own power.

B.Y. ?? – [[Min]], Chul and [[Jae-Hwa]] discover the Wind Temple. (( as Min is closely associated with the village of Hausson, I think this may be the appropriate time period ))

B.Y. ?? – [[Mupa]] is born

B.Y. 12 – [[Yuri]] is born

B.Y. ?? – [[Sagu]] is born

Yuri 1- Yuri becomes King of Koguryo

Yuri ?? – Prince [[Mhul]] is born

Yuri ?? – Princess [[Yun]] is born

Yuri ?? – Mhul befriends the [[Sea Nymph]].

Yuri 16 – Game events begin

Yuri 16-17 – Mupa comes to Koguryo and entrances Sagu. Mupa attempts to kill Princess Yun but is chased away by Mhul. King Yuri banishes Mupa from Koguryo. Sagu leaves the kingdoms to follow Mupa, swearing revenge.

The Empire of [[Buya]] (pronounced Boo-Ya; also called ''Puyeo'' or ''Fuyu''), a kingdom of [[NexusTK]], is the largest kingdom in terms of population. The city of [[Buya]] also has the largest population of the three main cities, [[Buya]], [[Kugnae]], and [[Nagnang]]. [[Buya]] can be selected as a starting location for new characters.

[[Buya]] is perhaps the most populated city because everything is very easy to access there. Most buildings of importance are right next to or very near one of the gates of [[Buya]]. [[Buya]] also has many spots that are used for social gatherings, perhaps another reason why it is so popular.

The capital of ''Buya'' City (also called ''Nong'an''), lies on the border of the territory. The northern gate leads to the [[Buyan gathering]], which houses horses which facilitate rapid travel across the lands of [[NexusTK]]. The western gate leads to the [[Vale]], a somewhat frightening [[player-kill]] area through which the [[Mythic Nexus]] is reached. The eastern gate leads to the [[Islets]], a dangerous but beautiful land that borders [[Koguryo]] and the [[Ogre]] city of [[Hamgyong Nam-do]]. The southern gate leads to the north-west section of the [[Wilderness]] between [[Buya]] and [[Kugnae]].

== History ==
The Buyian territory is an autonomous outpost of the [[Han]] empire, gifted to the brilliant Regent-General [[Senshi|Aino Senshi]], a Buyian native. The Capital of Buya is Buya City; however, "Buya" is often used to refer to either the territory or the Capital.

Buya was built up prior to the [[Great Shift]] as a magnificent, opulate palace town. The streets were paved, the Palace rested in the center of a magnificent lake, and ornate statues filled the land, but the population was small and few people spent much time in Buya. Emperor Senshi had suffered tremendous heartbreak and homesickness at being apart from his beloved Ling Chun Yung (Lasahn's mother), and so too did his mood affect the townspeople. Rarely were the streets filled with song; most Buyian Citizens kept residence in Koguryo, which was a livelier town with more amenities.

Around Y19 or so, Buya was attacked, alongside Koguryo, by Sagu and his minions. This upheaval led to the appointment of a temporary Leader of State, Prince [[Beanbag]], who would handle affairs in Buya similar to the arrangement made between King [[Yuri]] and his son [[Mhul]] in [[Koguryo]]. Beanbag served diligently for several years as the search for an eventual successor to Senshi occured within the Imperial Court.

During the [[Great Shift]] of Y23, the system of dams and levees containing the palace lake burst, flooding the capital with mud and burying the city's magnificent walls, statues, and paved roads. However, Buya gained significant territory in this geographical upheaval, including the [[Arctic Land]], [[Arctic Village]], [[Northern Pass]], [[Sanhae Village]], [[Islets]], and [[Mt. Du]]. Citizens of Koguryo were suddenly interested in Buya's more condensed streets, smaller size, density, and urban lifestyle. The [[Shaman]] and [[Muse]] circles, displaced by the Great Shift, reopened in Buya. The [[Heavens]], [[Phoenix]] and [[Lost Kingdom]] clans also relocated from Koguryo.

However, the icing on the cake of modern Buya truly began when General [[Lasahn]] Ling Chun Senshi of Han led an expedition of Han Imperial Scouts on a mission that sent them through the capital. Senshi's joyousness at the reunion with the daughter he never knew he had began a boom in Buyian culture and population. Lasahn was appointed to rule in her father's stead and thus tipped to eventually succeed the throne. Population and cultural growth in Buya continued.

Between Y24 and Y27, animosity grew between Buya and its neighbor Koguryo, fueled by jealousy from Kogurians at Buya's newfound dominance. The anti-Buyian movement was fuelled largely by Primogen [[Genji]] of [[Sun Moon]] and would eventually lead to the separation of Kogurian and Buyian tribunals. Anti-Buyian vandalism and rallies by Sun Moon members was a common occurance. In Y27, Buya's government was enraged by the appearance of Prince Mhul at the end of a Buyian Tribunal, where he insulted Lasahn. The two powers went to war, but the ensuing bloodbath was interrupted by the appearance of [[KaMing]], the Sonhi troops, and the Zibong, who had been impersonating Mhul to bring the nations to war.

Reunited in the face of a common enemy, Buya and Koguryo realized they had been tricked and as a result called an immediate armistice, soonafter signing a [[Treaty of Alliance]]. While no victory in battle was accomplished, Buya soon emerged the dominant region in population, culture, and economy.

Time passed, and many more events befell the Nexus, and by extension, the people of Buya, but the capital city itself was not again directly imperiled until the Spring of Y41, when, in a daring, unprovoked raid, the [[Sonhi]] stormed and captured Buya City, holding the Imperial Court and Princess [[Lasahn]] hostage. Buya's huge population was forced into exile, but the refugees were welcomed with open arms by Prince Mhul and the people of Koguryo. The Clans and Subpaths which had called Buya home set up temporary shelters within Koguryo as the allies pondered their next move. Finally, an underground network of tunnels deep into Buya City and the Palace complex was discovered, and citizens were able to aid the captive guards and Princess. Information from spies reached Kugnae that the Sonhi had begun an excavation of the Buya Library. However, [[Blight]], who had initially declared himself an enemy of Buya, saw the Sonhi as a graver threat and decided to aid Buya's military and exiled citizens in retaking the city by blowing massive holes through the city walls. The Sonhi were surprised by such bravado and, caught off guard, fled, leading to the liberation of the city. This event had long-standing repercussions for the kingdom; information unearthed in the raid deep within the [[Buya Library]] eventually led to the discovery of the [[Armor of the Winds]], and Blight's aid to Buya in her hour of need was the cornerstone in the foundation of the future [[Tri-Kingdom Treaty]].

Buya had escaped the conflict undamaged, and its citizens returned to their homes to continue life as usual. However, this peace would not last long. In Y46, Buya and Koguryo were invaded by hordes of powerful Wind Gods, which overtook places which in the past had been safehavens, such as Subpath Circles. Buya City and Kugnae were virtually destroyed by the ensuing onslaught of powerful attacks and heavy winds, which ceased only when Princess [[Lasahn]] slew the final Wind God on the steps of the Buya Palace. In the wake of this disaster, both kingdoms established a joint fund and undertook a tremendous rebuilding effort, which rebuilt both Kugnae and Buya in unparalleled splendor.

Since its redevelopment, Buya City has been a thriving cosmopolitan metropolis which continues to grow. The Kingdom of Buya has also seen tremendous growth in the towns of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

While Emperor [[Senshi]] is the ruler of Buya, most of the policymaking is left to his daughter, Princess [[Lasahn]]. A number of administrative duties are divided amongst ministers of the Imperial Court, [[Buya Ministry]], and the [[Buyian Imperial Army]]. The BIA concerns itself with defense of all Buyian territory, while the Ministry handles administration, beautification, infrastructure, and cultural projects in Buya's territory.

Sanhae is governed by a Regent appointed by the Princess, but the position is largely ceremonial as the Mayor of Sanhae is granted autonomy in most affairs. Although Sanhae lies at the strategically important Northern Pass, it is well-guarded by both the BIA and the [[Do]], and thus the vacancy of this post is not an issue of wide concern.

The three subpaths which reside within Buya -- the [[Muse]], [[Shaman]], and [[Do]] subpaths -- are given free apolitical autonomy by the Imperial Government, although they are on good terms. Clans are required to swear loyalty to Buya and must keep their halls and, if applicable, militias within Buya City under close scrutiny of the Buyian government. Those clans that have militias offer them as important auxillary to the Buyian Imperial Army during times of crisis.

Buya is party to a Treaty of Alliance with Koguryo and a Nonaggression Pact with Nagnang, both of which were superceded by the [[Tri-Kingdom Treaty]]. Buya also possesses an [[Buya Emergency Charter|Emergency Charter]] with provisions for invasions or attacks on the capital city, although it is in need of reform. In Yuri 78, Buya's government signed a pact with its clans giving them a larger role in the defense of the city and formalizing the alliance of the clans who had formed after the original Treaty of Buya had been signed (with only Heavens and Phoenix existing at the time). This event, while largely viewed as a formality, allowed Buya's military resources to be better distributed in the outlying territories.

== Population ==
Buya is the most populous kingdom in the Nexus. Citizens of Buya (both the city and country) are referred to as Buyians.

The populace of Buya is diverse and well-rounded, with the majority of inhabitants of Buya City residing within its many Clans and taverns. The Clans of Buya include [[Heavens]], [[Phoenix]], [[Lost Kingdom]], [[Dharma]], and [[Elendhirin]]. A smaller number of people also live within Buya City in the [[Shaman]], [[Do]], and [[Muse]] Circles, which also house a large number of non-citizens who reside in Buya. Members of the [[Buyian Imperial Army]], the Imperial Court, and the Royal Family take residence in the [[Buya Palace]] at the center of town.

The largest Buyian towns outside of Buya City are the suburban communiteis of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]]. The mining village of [[Sanhae]] and the Arctic village also house small populations; Sanhae is the closest town for many residing in the nearby [[Do]] Circle.

Sometime in the 70s, the [[Shaman]] Circle moved from Downtown Buya to a more remote, undisclosed location, leaving the [[Muse]] Guild as the only subpath inhabiting the Capital.

== Culture ==
The Buya Palace is home to a central Library and Theater, which are important civic buildings. The Palace itself contains much public space, including a [[Secret Garden]]. For sporting events, Buya City is home to the [[Bloodlust carnage|Bloodlust]] arena as well as the [[Fox hunt]] stables. Buya City is also home to the [[Muse|Muse Guild of Buya]], which contribute greatly to the cultural flavor of the capital.

Outside of Buya City, but within Buyian territory, lie several more tremendous venues. The [[Islets]] are home to both a magnificent outdoor public amphitheatre and the adjacent [[Garden of the Muses]], which features a theatre with balcony seating and dinner sets (as well as specially brewed Tea); it is also home to the Muses' library and classroom, where they host Muse College classes. Further south in the Islets lie the spirit gardens of the [[Shaman|Shaman]], where rituals are performed and knowledge is stored. Local entertainment is also prevalent in [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

Sanhae and the Arctic Village are also home to smaller cultural venues, including the [[Sanhae Hall]], [[Kamchatka Ballroom]], and training grounds of the [[Do]], whose neutral circle also lies within the territory.

Shaman Inactivity Removal

During Elder [[Widget]]'s Reign of the [[Shaman]] subpath many things were revamped. One of the major revamping which caused major outcry amongst the community and some ex-shaman and current shaman invovled the removal of an estimated 92 [[Shaman]] in one day. This revamping of the shaman subpath came after the announcement of the new [[quota]] of only 50 as to the previous 100. Shaman who had been inactive, or were not actively participating in the community were removed. With prior approval of a subpath pawn archon, [[Widget]] updated the shaman list dropping ~92 off its list. Due to a public outcry however by ex-shaman, the community, and some shaman alike, [[KRU]] stepped in and instated a vote to all current shaman and recently removed shaman. '''The Votes results as of November 21, 2006 resulted in Keeping Elder Widget as the Elder of the Shaman Subpath.''' Most all of the shaman under Widgets reign have seemed to enjoy the new changes and fully support the elder with the progress they feel she is making. The community as usual, feels otherwise. However, the Shaman path is a path of mystery and belongs all in all to itself and has no care for the community or its input when it comes to the paths internal affairs. Some shaman feel the encroachment of KRU and the community in its internal affairs as a slap in the face and has for the past week banned all community events and closed up its subpath areas to all except its path members.

Princess Lasahn Ling Chun Senshi is the Head of State of [[Buya]]. She performs all functions of leader in place of her father, Emperor Senshi. She is a gifted warrior as fluid in court ceremony and protocol as she is gifted with a sword.

Lasahn's weapon of choice is an Electra. She was raised in the Court of Han, where she learned her strangely emphatic way of talking. (Example: "Your transgressions shall !not! be tolerated!")

=== Parentage ===
Aino Senshi, an acclaimed General and tactician, was a native son of Buya before he left to serve the Han Emperor. His bravado and strategic brilliance in service of the Han led the Emperor to personally offer the hand of one of his most beautiful cousins in the Imperial Court: Yung Ling Chun. The two fell in love and were married in summer, but the political situation in Buya had grown dim; the King was ill and his advisors were making power plays. The Han Emperor dispatched Aino and his legion to Buya to maintain order; as time lingered on, he did not return. Yung Ling, presuming that Aino had been killed in battle or simply abandoned her, became bitter and fled to the countryside, where she gave birth to his child. She would later learn that the King of Buya, who had no heirs, had, on his deathbed, willed that Aino Senshi succeed him; however, she refused to join Senshi at the Buyian Court, feeling he had betrayed her by leaving in the first place. Having lost his beloved, Senshi governed effectively but sank into a deep, depressive pain of the heart.

Lasahn Ling Chun was raised in the court of the Han Emperor, who supported her and her mother, who had become distant and bitter. From an early age Lasahn displayed an interest in swordplay, often skipping dancing classes to train in fencing with the boys. Not content with merely studying the ways of tea ceremony and poetry, Lasahn trained with master Qi Lao of the Imperial Court, learning sword technique and martial arts; she quickly excelled. It was in this training that she met her fiancee, Xiou Ling Shen, a boy several years older than her.

When Lasahn was in adolescence, the passion between her and Xiou Ling grew, and they became engaged. He had quickly risen through the ranks of the Imperial Army, but their summer love was cut short by news of a series of raids from [[BlueStone]]'s pirates on the Southern Han coast. Xiou Ling's regiment was dispatched to the next city expected to be hit by the pirates; he was to be commander on his first mission. Xiou Ling Shen did not return. The pirates invited the Commander to a parlay on which peaceful negotiations were to be made; they then ambushed him and murdered him in a most dishonorable way. The news devastated Lasahn, who to this day has a deep-seated hatred of pirates.

=== Adulthood ===
Having lost her first love and fiancee, and barely on speaking terms with her embittered mother, Lasahn poured herself into her work, quickly becoming one of the most talented and recognized young members of the Han Tigress Army. Although her mother had concealed the details from her, Lasahn's teacher Qi Lau knew of her father's deeds in protecting the people of Han and Buya, and revealed to her the identity of her father. After a successful campaign in defending Han from the marauding [[Sonhi]] under [[KaMing]], Lasahn was promoted to General in the Han Tigress Army and gifted the Star Tigress Armor by the Han Emperor himself.

Lasahn's fate changed with a new assignment. A series of water sources on the Buya-Han border had been poisoned, resulting in local illnesses and deaths, and the Emperor dispatched Lasahn's legion to investigate. They found an abandoned Sonhi camp at which they rested, and during the night were attacked by Zibong. After a vicious overnight battle, the Zibong were driven back and the wells purified, but Lasahn's regiment had been reduced to a mere expeditionary force. Seeing an opportunity as well as a necessity, Lasahn sent her emissary [[Laza]] ahead to request assistance and lodging for her troops, and headed to Buya... to meet her father.

Aino Senshi, still painful at the memory of his beloved Yun Ling, initially treated Lasahn with kind but deliberate distance, but he warmed up to her quickly. The Capitol of Koguryo is the City of [[Kugnae]], a large, sprawling city. However, as compared to the large commercial nation of [[Buya]], the population of Kugnae and of Koguryo as a whole is relatively low.

Since the early 20s, King Yuri has delegated most of his authority to his second son, Prince Mu-hyul. The Prince deals with all day to day policy, while the King appears for ceremonial duties. Much of the actual management of Koguryo's affairs is actually in the hands of its Royal Ministry, led by Prime Minister [[Starrbrite]]. The Royal Ministry sees to keeping the citizens of Koguryo, and all of the Kingdom of the Winds, well satisfied.

Five subpaths reside within Koguryian borders. The [[Chongun]], [[Diviner]], [[Merchant]], [[Monk]], and [[Spy]] subpaths maintain significant autonomy, while still pledging fealty and giving some small tribute to the sovereignty. Clans are also given some autonomy, but are at the beck and call of the Royalty when the time comes.

Koguryo is a member of the Tri-Kingdom Alliance, along with the Principality of [[Nagnang]] and Empire of [[Buya]]. It also maintains a tenuous peace with the Ogre Kingdom within its lands, though many Ogres and humans battle in the caves of [[Hamgyong Nam-Do]], and humans are rarely if ever allowed into the hidden ogre city of [[Ja-gook]].

There are also three residential villages where citizens of Koguryo may lease plots and homes for a small fee, as well as engage in many leisurely rural activities, from rabbit races, to mazes, to games of G'oh. Koguryo is also home to the History Museum, and the Cemetery.

After a vicious overnight battle, the Zibong were driven back and the wells purified, but Lasahn's regiment had been reduced to a mere expeditionary force. Seeing an opportunity as well as a necessity, Lasahn sent her emissary [[Laza]] ahead to request assistance and lodging for her troops, and headed to Buya... to meet her father.

Aino Senshi, still painful at the memory of his beloved Yun Ling, initially treated Lasahn with kind but deliberate distance, but he warmed up to her quickly. Lasahn quickly earned a reputation as a stateswoman and diplomat by allowing [[KaMing]] to build a [[Sonhi Encampment]] in a desolate part of the Buyian territories, thus granting asylum without jeapordizing the safety of the citizens of Buya.

Upon her permanent appointment as Head of State of Buya and Heiress to the Throne, Lasahn adopted the last name Senshi after her father, becoming Lasahn Ling Chun Senshi. This is frequently shortened, especially by Lasahn herself, as Lasahn Senshi.

Lasahn only occasionally returns to her homeland of Han; the most memorable visit home was in Yuri 30, when her mother, Yun Ling Chun, passed away. Upon her return she penned a thought-provoking memoir about her mother and her personal grief and distributed it to her people, so they might know that she too was one of them.

The Empire of [[Buya]] (pronounced Boo-Ya), a kingdom of [[NexusTK]], is the largest kingdom in terms of population. The city of [[Buya]] also has the largest population of the three main cities, [[Buya]], [[Kugnae]], and [[Nagnang]]. [[Buya]] can be selected as a starting location for new characters.

[[Buya]] is perhaps the most populated city because everything is very easy to access there. Most buildings of importance are right next to or very near one of the gates of [[Buya]]. [[Buya]] also has many spots that are used for social gatherings, perhaps another reason why it is so popular.

Buya City, the capital, lies on the border of the territory. The northern gate leads to the [[Buyan gathering]], which houses horses which facilitate rapid travel across the lands of [[NexusTK]]. The western gate leads to the [[Vale]], a somewhat frightening [[player-kill]] area through which the [[Mythic Nexus]] is reached. The eastern gate leads to the [[Islets]], a dangerous but beautiful land that borders [[Koguryo]] and the [[Ogre]] city of [[Hamgyong Nam-do]]. The southern gate leads to the north-west section of the [[Wilderness]] between [[Buya]] and [[Kugnae]].

== History ==
The Buyian territory is an autonomous outpost of the [[Han]] empire, gifted to the brilliant Regent-General [[Aino Senshi]], a Buyian native. The Capital of Buya is Buya City; however, "Buya" is often used to refer to either the territory or the Capital.

Buya was built up prior to the [[Great Shift]] as a magnificent, opulate palace town. The streets were paved, the Palace rested in the center of a magnificent lake, and ornate statues filled the land, but the population was small and few people spent much time in Buya. Emperor Senshi had suffered tremendous heartbreak and homesickness at being apart from his beloved Ling Chun Yung (Lasahn's mother), and so too did his mood affect the townspeople. Rarely were the streets filled with song; most Buyian Citizens kept residence in Koguryo, which was a livelier town with more amenities.

Around Y19 or so, Buya was attacked, alongside Koguryo, by Sagu and his minions. This upheaval led to the appointment of a temporary Leader of State, Prince [[Beanbag]], who would handle affairs in Buya similar to the arrangement made between King [[Yuri]] and his son [[Mhul]] in [[Koguryo]]. Beanbag served diligently for several years as the search for an eventual successor to Senshi occured within the Imperial Court.

During the [[Great Shift]] of Y23, the system of dams and levees containing the palace lake burst, flooding the capital with mud and burying the city's magnificent walls, statues, and paved roads. However, Buya gained significant territory in this geographical upheaval, including the [[Arctic Land]], [[Arctic Village]], [[Northern Pass]], [[Sanhae Village]], [[Islets]], and [[Mt. Du]]. Citizens of Koguryo were suddenly interested in Buya's more condensed streets, smaller size, density, and urban lifestyle. The [[Shaman]] and [[Muse]] circles, displaced by the Great Shift, reopened in Buya. The [[Heavens]], [[Phoenix]] and [[LostKingdom]] clans also relocated from Koguryo.

However, the icing on the cake of modern Buya truly began when General [[Lasahn]] Ling Chun Senshi of Han led an expedition of Han Imperial Scouts on a mission that sent them through the capital. Senshi's joyousness at the reunion with the daughter he never knew he had began a boom in Buyian culture and population. Lasahn was appointed to rule in her father's stead and thus tipped to eventually succeed the throne. Population and cultural growth in Buya continued.

Between Y24 and Y27, animosity grew between Buya and its neighbor Koguryo, fueled by jealousy from Kogurians at Buya's newfound dominance. The anti-Buyian movement was fuelled largely by Primogen [[Genji]] of the [[Sun Moon Sect]] and would eventually lead to the seperation of Kogurian and Buyian tribunals. Anti-Buyian vandalism and rallies by Sun Moon members was a common occurance. In Y27, Buya's government was enraged by the appearance of Prince Mhul at the end of a Buyian Tribunal, where he insulted Lasahn. The two powers went to war, but the ensuing bloodbath was interrupted by the appearance of [[KaMing]], the Sonhi troops, and the Zibong, who had been impersonating Mhul to bring the nations to war.

Reunited in the face of a common enemy, Buya and Koguryo realized they had been tricked and as a result called an immediate armistice, soonafter signing a [[Treaty of Alliance]]. While no victory in battle was accomplished, Buya soon emerged the dominant region in population, culture, and economy.

Time passed, and many more events befell the Nexus, and by extension, the people of Buya, but the city itself was not again directly imperiled until the Spring of Y41, when, in a daring, unprovoked raid, the [[Sonhi]] stormed and captured Buya City, holding the Imperial Court and Princess [[Lasahn]] hostage. Buya's huge population was forced into exile, but the refugees were welcomed with open arms by Prince Mhul and the people of Koguryo. The Clans and Subpaths which had called Buya home set up temporary shelters within Koguryo as the allies pondered their next move. Finally, an underground network of tunnels deep into Buya City and the Palace complex was discovered, and citizens were able to aid the captive guards and Princess. Information from spies reached Kugnae that the Sonhi had begun an excavation of the Buya Library. However, once they found what they were looking for, the Sonhi mysteriously vacated, and the allies quickly retook the city. The information unearthed deep within the [[Buya Library]] eventually led to the discovery of the [[Armor of the Winds]].

Buya had escaped the conflict undamaged, and its citizens returned to their homes to continue life as usual. However, this peace would not last long. In Y46, Buya and Koguryo were invaded by hordes of powerful Wind Gods, which overtook places which in the past had been safehavens, such as Subpath Circles. Buya City and Kugnae were virtually destroyed by the ensuing onslaught of powerful attacks and heavy winds, which ceased only when Princess [[Lasahn]] slew the final Wind God on the steps of the Buya Palace. In the wake of this disaster, both kingdoms established a joint fund and undertook a tremendous rebuilding effort, which rebuilt both Kugnae and Buya in unparalleled splendor.

Since its redevelopment, Buya City has been a thriving cosmopolitan metropolis which continues to grow. The Kingdom of Buya has also seen tremendous growth in the towns of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

Sanhae is governed by a Regent appointed by the Princess, but the position is largely ceremonial as the Mayor of Sanhae is granted autonomy in most affairs. Although Sanhae lies at the strategically important Northern Pass, it is well-guarded by both the BIA and the [[Do]], and thus the vacancy of this post is not an issue of wide concern.

The three subpaths which reside within Buya -- the [[Muse]], [[Shaman]], and [[Do]] subpaths -- are given free apolitical autonomy by the Imperial Government, although they are on good terms. Clans are required to swear loyalty to Buya and must keep their halls and, if applicable, militias within Buya City under close scrutiny of the Buyian government. Those clans that have militias offer them as important auxillary to the Buyian Imperial Army during times of crisis.

The largest Buyian towns outside of Buya City are the suburban communiteis of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]]. The mining village of Sanhae and the Arctic village also house small populations; Sanhae is the closest town for many residing in the nearby [[Do]] Circle.

The Buya Palace is home to a central Library and Theater, which are important civic buildings. The Palace itself contains much public space, including a [[Secret Garden]]. For sporting events, Buya City is home to the [[Bloodlust]] arena as well as the [[Fox hunt]] stables. Buya City is also home to the [[Shaman]] path and the [[Muse|Muse Guild of Buya]], which contribute greatly to the multicultural flavor of the capital.

Outside of Buya City, but within Buyian territory, lie several more tremendous venues. The [[Islets]] are home to both a magnificent outdoor public amphitheatre and the adjacent [[Garden of the Muses]], which features a theatre with balcony seating and dinner sets (as well as specially brewed Tea); it is also home to the Muses' library and classroom, where they host Muse College classes. Further south in the Islets lie the spirit gardens of the [[Shaman|Shamans]], where rituals are performed and knowledge is stored. Local entertainment is also prevalent in [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

Sanhae and the Arctic Village are also home to smaller cultural venues, including the [[Sanhae Hall]], [[Kamchatka Ballroom]], and training grounds of the [[Do]], whose neutral circle also lies within the territory.

The streets were paved, the Palace rested in the center of a magnificent lake, and ornate statues filled the land, but the population was small and few people spent much time in Buya. Emperor Senshi had suffered tremendous heartbreak and homesickness at being apart from his beloved Ling Chun Yung (Lasahn's mother), and so too did his mood affect the townspeople. Rarely were the streets filled with song; most Buyian Citizens kept residence in Koguryo, which was a livelier town with more amenities.

Around Y19 or so, Buya was attacked, alongside Koguryo, by Sagu and his minions. This upheaval led to the appointment of a temporary Leader of State, Prince [[Beanbag]], who would handle affairs in Buya similar to the arrangement made between King [[Yuri]] and his son [[Mhul]] in [[Koguryo]]. Beanbag served diligently for several years as the search for an eventual successor to Senshi occured within the Imperial Court.

During the [[Great Shift]] of Y23, the system of dams and levees containing the palace lake burst, flooding the capital with mud and burying the city's magnificent walls, statues, and paved roads. However, Buya gained significant territory in this geographical upheaval, including the [[Arctic Land]], [[Arctic Village]], [[Northern Pass]], [[Sanhae Village]], [[Islets]], and [[Mt. Du]]. Citizens of Koguryo were suddenly interested in Buya's more condensed streets, smaller size, density, and urban lifestyle. The [[Shaman]] and [[Muse]] circles, displaced by the Great Shift, reopened in Buya. The [[Heavens]], [[Phoenix]] and [[LostKingdom]] clans also relocated from Koguryo.

However, the icing on the cake of modern Buya truly began when General [[Lasahn]] Ling Chun Senshi of Han led an expedition of Han Imperial Scouts on a mission that sent them through the capital. Senshi's joyousness at the reunion with the daughter he never knew he had began a boom in Buyian culture and population. Lasahn was appointed to rule in her father's stead and thus tipped to eventually succeed the throne. Population and cultural growth in Buya continued.

Between Y24 and Y27, animosity grew between Buya and its neighbor Koguryo, fueled by jealousy from Kogurians at Buya's newfound dominance. The anti-Buyian movement was fuelled largely by Primogen [[Genji]] of the [[Sun Moon Sect]] and would eventually lead to the seperation of Kogurian and Buyian tribunals. Anti-Buyian vandalism and rallies by Sun Moon members was a common occurance. In Y27, Buya's government was enraged by the appearance of Prince Mhul at the end of a Buyian Tribunal, where he insulted Lasahn. The two powers went to war, but the ensuing bloodbath was interrupted by the appearance of [[KaMing]], the Sonhi troops, and the Zibong, who had been impersonating Mhul to bring the nations to war.

Reunited in the face of a common enemy, Buya and Koguryo realized they had been tricked and as a result called an immediate armistice, soonafter signing a [[Treaty of Alliance]]. While no victory in battle was accomplished, Buya soon emerged the dominant region in population, culture, and economy.

Time passed, and many more events befell the Nexus, and by extension, the people of Buya, but the city itself was not again directly imperiled until the Spring of Y41, when, in a daring, unprovoked raid, the [[Sonhi]] stormed and captured Buya City, holding the Imperial Court and Princess [[Lasahn]] hostage. Buya's huge population was forced into exile, but the refugees were welcomed with open arms by Prince Mhul and the people of Koguryo. The Clans and Subpaths which had called Buya home set up temporary shelters within Koguryo as the allies pondered their next move. Finally, an underground network of tunnels deep into Buya City and the Palace complex was discovered, and citizens were able to aid the captive guards and Princess. Information from spies reached Kugnae that the Sonhi had begun an excavation of the Buya Library. However, once they found what they were looking for, the Sonhi mysteriously vacated, and the allies quickly retook the city. The information unearthed deep within the [[Buya Library]] eventually led to the discovery of the [[Armor of the Winds]].

Buya had escaped the conflict undamaged, and its citizens returned to their homes to continue life as usual. However, this peace would not last long. In Y46, Buya and Koguryo were invaded by hordes of powerful Wind Gods, which overtook places which in the past had been safehavens, such as Subpath Circles. Buya City and Kugnae were virtually destroyed by the ensuing onslaught of powerful attacks and heavy winds, which ceased only when Princess [[Lasahn]] slew the final Wind God on the steps of the Buya Palace. In the wake of this disaster, both kingdoms established a joint fund and undertook a tremendous rebuilding effort, which rebuilt both Kugnae and Buya in unparalleled splendor.

Since its redevelopment, Buya City has been a thriving cosmopolitan metropolis which continues to grow. The Kingdom of Buya has also seen tremendous growth in the towns of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

While Emperor Senshi is the ruler of Buya, most of the policymaking is left to his daughter, Princess [[Lasahn]]. A number of administrative duties are divided amongst ministers of the Imperial Court and the [[Buyian Imperial Army]]. The BIA concerns itself with defense and administration of all Buyian territory.

Sanhae is governed by a Regent appointed by the Princess, but the position is largely ceremonial as the Mayor of Sanhae is granted autonomy in most affairs. Although Sanhae lies at the strategically important Northern Pass, it is well-guarded by both the BIA and the [[Do]], and thus the vacancy of this post is not an issue of wide concern.

The three subpaths which reside within Buya -- the [[Muse]], [[Shaman]], and [[Do]] subpaths -- are given free apolitical autonomy by the Imperial Government, although they are on good terms. Clans are required to swear loyalty to Buya and must keep their halls and, if applicable, militias within Buya City under close scrutiny of the Buyian government. Those clans that have militias offer them as important auxillary to the Buyian Imperial Army during times of crisis.

Buya is party to a Alliance of Treaty with Koguryo and a Nonaggression Pact with Nagnang. Buya also possesses an [[Buya Emergency Charter|Emergency Charter]] with provisions for invasions or attacks on the capital city.

== Population ==
Buya is the most populous kingdom in the Nexus. Citizens of Buya (both the city and country) are referred to as Buyians.

The populace of Buya is diverse and well-rounded, with the majority of inhabitants of Buya City (the most populous single city in the Nexus) residing within its many Clans and taverns. The Clans of Buya include [[Heavens]], [[Phoenix]], [[Lost Kingdom]], [[Dharma]], and [[Elendhirin]]. A smaller number of people also live within Buya City in the [[Shaman]] and [[Muse]] Circles, which also house a large number of non-citizens who reside in Buya. Members of the [[Buyian Imperial Army]], the Imperial Court, and the Royal Family take residence in the [[Buya Palace]] at the center of town.

The largest Buyian towns outside of Buya City are the suburban communiteis of [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]]. The mining village of Sanhae and the Arctic village also house small populations; Sanhae is the closest town for many residing in the nearby [[Do]] Circle.

== Culture ==
The Buya Palace is home to a central Library and Theater, which are important civic buildings. The Palace itself contains much public space, including a [[Secret Garden]]. For sporting events, Buya City is home to the [[Bloodlust]] arena as well as the [[Fox Hunt]] Stables. Buya City is also home to the [[Shaman]] path and the [[Muse|Muse Guild of Buya]], which contribute greatly to the multicultural flavor of the capital.

Outside of Buya City, but within Buyian territory, lie several more tremendous venues. The [[Islets]] are home to both a magnificent outdoor public amphitheatre and the adjacent [[Garden of the Muses]], which features a theatre with balcony seating and dinner sets (as well as specially brewed Tea); it is also home to the Muses' library and classroom, where they host Muse College classes. Further south in the Islets lie the spirit gardens of the [[Shaman|Shamans]], where rituals are performed and knowledge is stored. Local entertainment is also prevalent in [[Kimchon]], [[Naju]], and [[Tok-do]].

Sanhae and the Arctic Village are also home to smaller cultural venues, including the [[Sanhae Hall]], [[Kamchatka Ballroom]], and training grounds of the [[Do]], whose neutral circle also lies within the territory.

An [[Archon]] is a player who has been entrusted with a character that possess some GM-level abilities such as [[Set Reactor]], [[Teleport]], [[Broadcast]] and Jailing abilities. They are easily identified by the [[Archon orange]] dye they wear, along with the [[Archon helm]] item.

Each [[Archon]] is usually assigned a specific duty, such as monitoring [[Clan]]s, [[Revel]]s, [[Carnage]]s or [[Subpath]]s but all Archons perform judicial duties and help test out new features before they are publically released to the rest of players.

Archons are led by the Archon [[Primogen]], which is a position usually (but not always) held by the most experienced and qualified Archon. The Archon [[Primogen]] exists to ensure that other Archons perform their jobs properly.

Archons are often called "Assistant Game Masters" in other games, but recently many larger game publishers have been shifting away from using "volunteer workers" to handle these administrative tasks due to complaints from customers who accuse many players of mis-using their positions to harrass other players. However, NexusTK still uses volunteer players to perform their Assistant GM duties.

Historically, Archons were selected from among the [[Angel]] ranks, but since [[Angel]]s were removed from the game, they are selected from the general populace by the Archon Primogen. Before they are given all of the powers and duties of an Archon, an Archon candidate is given a [[Pawn]] character and assigned menial tasks.
